installNotesUbuntu14
v7 v8 34 34 By default, the default desktop manager for Ubuntu (Unity) places menus on the top of the screen and these are seen only when the mouse is moved to that location: 35 35 36 [[Image(installNotesUbuntu14:UnityStd.png, 100%)]]36 [[Image(installNotesUbuntu14:UnityStd.png, 50%)]] 37 37 38 38 This can be changed, use the gear or knob in the upper right to select the "System Settings" menu 39 39 40 [[Image(UnitySettings.png, 60%)]]40 [[Image(UnitySettings.png, 40%)]] 41 41 42 42 In the new window, select "Appearance" and then "Behavior" and finally select to "Show menus..." in the "... window's title bar", as below. 43 43 44 [[Image(AppearanceSetting.png, 60%)]]44 [[Image(AppearanceSetting.png, 40%)]] 45 45 46 46 Once this is selected, the menu appears on the title bar, when the mouse is placed there, as below. 47 47 48 [[Image(installNotesUbuntu14:UnityAlt.png )]]48 [[Image(installNotesUbuntu14:UnityAlt.png, 50%)]] 49 49 50 50 This is not exactly ideal, IMHO, but does save screen "real estate."
