43This is the full tkcon script when run inside the plugin. It feels like a
44stripped down version of tkcon, but the only limitations are those
45established by the plugin. You can test the basic console features and get
46a feel for the mutli-color output. Below the demo are some ideas to try
47out. v2 of the plugin is distributed with a megawidget version of tkcon for
48debugging tclets. The demo below uses rev 1.28 of tkcon in CVS
49(this correlates to v2.1 of tkcon).

55Have a look at some of the features: (culled from the
56tkcon documentation)
57

58
Variable / Path / Procedure Name Expansion. Type in
59
set tc
at the prompt. Hit <Control-Shift-V>.
60
set tcl_
should now be visible.
61Hit <Control-Shift-V> again. You should see the rest of
62the completions printed out for you. Works the same for procedures
63and files paths (file access restricted from plugin). Works properly
64when spaces or other funny characters are including in the name.
65
66
Command Highlighting. Note that
set
should be in
67green, denoting it is a recognized command in that interpreter.
68
69
Electric Character Matching. Watch while you type the
70following:
proc foo { a b } { puts [list $a $b] }
. Did you
71notice the blink matching of the braces? Yes, it's smart.
72
73
Command History. Use the Up/Down arrows or
74<Control-p>/<Control-n> to peruse the command
75history. <Control-r>/<Control-s> Actually
76does command history matching (like tcsh or other advanced Unix shells).
77
78
Useful Colorization. Having defined
foo
above, type
79in
foo hey
. Note that the error comes back in red. Go up one
80in the command history and add
you
and see that regular
81stdout output comes through in blue (the colors are configurable).
82
83
Cut/Copy/Paste. You should be able to do that between outside
84windows and TkCon. The default keys are
85<Control-x>/<Control-c>/<Control-v>.
